Warpcast is giving $50k to open-source projects used by Farcaster teams.
Farcaster specific projects like frames-js are eligible, but so are general purpose projects like viem. We are going to change a few things based on our learnings from the retro grants in 2023 :
- Developer Focused — we want to fund things that make developers productive. these projects tend to be underfunded and their impact is easier to measure.
- Larger, more focused grants — we want to increase the amount of money we’re giving out and focus it on the best projects. ideally, we’re giving ~ 5-10k grants to 5-10 projects .
Who is eligible?
The project must:
- Accept donations on Github
- Be licensed under MIT or equivalent
- Be used by at least one Farcaster project
- Be on Farcaster (either the project or its creator)
We will prioritize projects by:
- Impact — how much have you helped developers in the ecosystem?
- Farcaster specificity— are you all-in on farcaster or building for a wider audience?
- Velocity — are you shipping things that developers want quickly?
- Duration — how long have you been working on this.
