We’ve noticed an increase in accounts that are “reply farming”.

A common pattern is posting a lot of uninteresting or unhelpful replies with the aim of farming airdrops. This makes the experience worse for everyone, especially the cast authors. Reply farming accounts get reported often and then our algo applies the spam label to their accounts.

Sometimes this is an honest mistake — people learn about a new token and go a little overboard. So we’ve made a change to send out a one time warning. If you change your behavior, your account won’t be affected. But if you continue it will be permanently labelled as spammy.

What is spammy behavior? Spam is posting uninteresting or unhelpful content in other people’s spaces with the goal of farming airdrops. Your account may be marked spammy if you reply to a lot of people who don’t follow you, and ****they never engage with your replies.

What happens if I get a spam warning? Nothing changes (yet). But if you continue replying to a lot of people who don’t follow you, you’ll get a spam label.

What happens if I get a spam label? Your direct casts and casts will not be seen by people who don’t follow you. They will still be seen by all the people that follow you and all the channels that you are an admin of.
