Farcaster v3 will make the network permissionless. The migration will take 2-4 weeks to complete and by the end of it:

1. Users can sign up at any time, without an invitation.
2. New users must pay at least $5 to store messages, and may pay more for higher limits.
3. All users must make an on-chain transaction to add and remove applications.

1. Usernames are now ENS names that may onchain or offchain (FIP-4).
2. Contracts are deployed on OP Mainnet and registrations and signers are copied over.
